The Bristol United Breweries, Ltd., New Maltings. Brewers’ Journal 15th August 1897

Bristol United Breweries Ltd, Lewins Mead Brewery, Bristol, Gloucestershire.

Registered 24th July 1889 to acquire: Bowley & Bristow, St.Paul's Brewery; Bishop & Butt Ltd, Redcliffe Mead Brewery; J.H.Lockley & Sons, Lewins Mead Brewery and M.Reynolds & Co, Imperial Brewery, Bedminster. St Paul's Brewery not vacated until 1912 when the plant was reinstated at Lewis Mead.

Acquired by Bristol Brewery Georges & Co. Ltd. 1956 with about 600 public houses. Used as a sugar factory until 1966.
