The brewery was founded as the High Street Brewery by Thomas Earp and Edward Saunders in the early 19th century. When Earp retired in 1861 the brewery was taken over and a new company, the Uttoxeter Brewery Company was formed. It extended its sales throughout the Midlands, appointing agents in Stoke-on-Trent and Wolverhampton. The company became the Uttoxeter & Dove Valley Brewery Co in 1884. In liquidation in 1894. In 1895 it was acquired with 26 public houses by Charles Bunting Ltd. Registered in June 1895. | |||
