Brewing commenced 2011 in a former bed factory at Quarmby Mills, Tanyard Road, Oakes, West Yorkshire. They moved to Willow Lane in 2015.
In 2019, Magic Rock were acquired by the Castlemaine XXXX brewer, Lion; themselves a subsidiary of Kirin Holdings (Japan). In 2022, Lion sold off the brewery.
