	The Queens Cross Brewery was built c.1872 by Matthew Smith at the rear of the Lamp Tavern, 116 High Street, Dudley. This was a 10-quarter brewery producing 500 barrels of beer a week. It was also known as the Dudley Hop Ale Brewery, since it brewed a non-alcoholic sweet bottled beverage of that name.
