			Frederick Miller was brewing at the High Street in 1874, but was listed at New Street in 1884. He may have taken over a previous business run by Thomas Riches who was listed in 1855.

			Frederick Miller took his sons into the brewing business and this was indicated in the title until 1899 when, Miller had sold out to Charles [[Seabrooke & Sons Ltd]] of the Thurrock Brewery, Grays, who purchased the brewery for his son, William Roger Seabrooke. The concern then took the trade name of C.and W.R. Seabrooke.

			The reason why Charles Seabrooke purchased the Marine Brewery was because his son William did not get on well with his two brothers and nephew who were running the Thurrock Brewery.

			At the time of purchase there were six public houses, and William Seabrooke brewed twice a week, spending one day at bottling, one calling on his customers and a further day attending to his books. He died in 1935 at the age of 64, having married only four years previously and leaving a daughter.

			In the early 1930's the brewery was bought by [[Daniell & Sons Breweries Ltd]]. of West Bergholt.
