			On the 8th May, 1862, an indenture was made between the Eastern Counties and London and Blackwall Railway Company and John Blyth for the use of a railway siding to serve a brewery. This was built in 1868. On 13th January, 1869 an indeture was made between John Blyth and G.Clark and John Blyth and Samual Wertwood Squier.

			Further indentures were made with G.Henry Blyth and Anne Blyth and Thomas Worrin Blyth. Thomas Blyth who was a farmer of Little Dunmow died on 23rd March, 1884, with his widow Ann the main beneficiary. Ann Blyth made a lease of 21 years from 25th December, 1877 to Samuel Westwood Squier. A further lease of 21 years was made on 23rd February, 1893 to take effect from Christmas 1892, between Thomas Worrin Blyth and Samuel Westwood Squier and Joseph Ernest Squier and Frank Mercer. In 1886 Blyth and Squier were also listed as brick makers.

			The site was a long thin one sandwiched between the L.T.and S. Railway (later L.N.E.R.) main line to Southend and a stream which passed beside the railway level crossing at the station. The brewery was taken over on 14th May, 1914 by [[Seabrooke & Sons Ltd]]., Thurrock Brewery, Grays, and brewing ceased.

			On 15th October, 1918 a reconveyance of the premises, then a granary and land formerly part of the brewery; between Messrs Thomas Blyth, S.J. Blyth and George E. Jackson to Messrs Squier and Mercer. A further sale of the former brewery premises took place on 27th Sept., 1930.
