The Old Cottage Brewery was founded by Ray Orton and Kevin Slater in 1999, initially located at the Thomas sykes pub by the old Everards plnt in Burton, it moved to its 'shell and sink' industrial unit on Hawkins Lane in 2000

Oak is 4%ABV with 10% crystal, Halcyon Daze is a healthy 5.3%ABV with 4oz per barrel Goldings while Stout is 4.7%ABV and 7% roasted barley.

The copper is heated by a road tar burner. Two 35kg propane cylinders will boil five brews

The 100kg plant was bought from Kendal based Harrison and Baron trading as the Old Cottage for £3000 including 200 firkins. The Company name was purchased as well and has never been changed.
