Before it was acquired by Sibeth, it was occupied by the Flowers family, an important brewing dynasty. &lt;br /&gt;

Ceased brewing 14th December 1904 and was sold with 21 public houses for £25,410, the houses being sold piecemeal to a total of 8 local brewers including [[Hall &amp;amp; Woodhouse Ltd]], [[Baxter &amp;amp; Sons (Dorset)]] and [[Marston&#039;s Dolphin Brewery Ltd]]. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
