Gregory Wright & Sons, Holmesdale Brewery, Wadhurst, East Sussex.

Founded 1874. Offered for auction 25th April 1913 after brewing had ceased in 1911.

Brewers’ Guild Journal there was mention of Greg Wright who on 30th June 1966 retired from Adnams & Co. Ltd, having been with the company from 1924. He had started his brewing career at his grandfather’s brewery at Wadhurst, where he had worked with his father and uncle from the age of nine! In 1904 he went to brew at Tooths of Cambridge, see Alexander Frederick Tooth, which had been bought by his father. In 1907 he moved to the Aldebrugh Brewery Co and transferred when Adnams bought the latter. Mr Wright died in February 1985 aged 96.

Gregory Wright of the Wadhurst brewery died 26th June 1907.
