Workington Brewery Co. Ltd, High Brewery, Bridge Street, Workington, Cumbria.
Founded by John Christian Curwen (Lord of the Manor) in 1792 on leased land. Commenced trading 1795. By 1839 in the ownership of John Iredale, previously of Keswick. Registered May 1891 to acquire the business of P & T Iredale.
Acquired by Mount Charlotte Investments Ltd. 1973 with 110 public houses and was sold to Matthew Brown & Co. Ltd. June 1975.
Renamed the Lakeland Lager Brewery and ceased brewing in 1988.
Some buildings remain.
