The Spread Eagle was a former brew-pub. John Brown, brewer and maltster, recorded in an 1850 directory. He died in 1853, and in October that year, his farm, brewery and pub were offered at auction. Later, the pub came into the ownership of [[Steward & Patteson Ltd]] of Norwich.
 
Woodforde's moved here in 1983. Ceased in 1989 when brewing was transferred to Woodbastwick.

Woodforde’s Brewery, Slad Lane, Woodbastwick, Norfolk NR13 6SW


(1) Drayton, Norfolk

Brewing commenced in April 1981 by Ray Ashworth in Drayton. Ceased 1983 when brewery moved to Erpingham.


(2) The Spread Eagle Inn, Erpingham, Norfolk.

The Spread Eagle was a former brew-pub. John Brown, brewer and maltster, recorded in an 1850 directory. He died in 1853, and in October that year, his farm, brewery and pub were offered at auction. Later, the pub came into the ownership of Steward & Patteson Ltd of Norwich.

Woodforde's moved here in 1983. Ceased in 1989 when brewing was transferred to Woodbastwick.
