Brewers Journal 1888 p420 Howard Bros partnership dissolved, William Howard continuing at Syke Street. In the 1894 Preston Brewery Co Ltd was for auction 6qtr plant 30 qtr malthouse
On 1st March 1917 William Sharples died. Home Lune Street? In August 1918 a limited company formed with capital of £20,000 run by Elizabeth Sharples. Browns bought with 28 licensed houses in December, said to have operated for around 30 years.

William Sharples Ltd, Croft Street, Preston, Lancashire.

Listed between 1873 and 1884 as Peter Howard & Co, Preston Brewery, Croft Street.

In 1888 the Howard Brothers partnership dissolved, William Howard continuing at Syke Street. In 1894 Preston Brewery Co Ltd was up for auction.

Registered in August 1918 by Elizabeth Sharples.

Acquired by Matthew Brown & Co. Ltd. 1919 with 28 public houses.
