In 1888 the Howard Brothers partnership dissolved, William Howard continuing at Syke Street. In 1894 Preston Brewery Co Ltd was up for auction.
Registered in August 1918 by Elizabeth Sharples.
Acquired by Matthew Brown & Co. Ltd. 1919 with 28 public houses.
There may possibly be some connection with Walter Clarke & Co who traded as the Preston Brewery, Euston Street, in 1887.
