John Bower inherited the pub in 1860, rebuilt 2 years later with new brewhouse. Let to George Albert Booth in 1887. He bought the property 2 years later. Retired through ill health in 1902 and William Francis Howard then took over. Died August 1927 and pub bought by [[Leeds & Wakefield Breweries Ltd]]. The Grade II listed building is currently closed.
