William Jackson Armstrong, Tower Brewery, Duke Street, Corkickle, Whitehaven, Cumbria.

Established 1771 by Leile family. Owned by Armstrong in 1912.

In 1930 Armstrong made arrangements with Jennings Brothers Ltd. They had separate management for the pubs but used a central distribution centre in Cockermouth.

Declared bankrupt in 1932 and Tower Brewery with 22 houses put up for sale but only 3 houses were sold. Harrington Brewery was acquired by Matthew Brown & Co. Ltd. 1925 with 75 tied houses and is now a garage.
