William Jackson Armstrong, Tower Brewery, Duke Street, Corkickle, Whitehaven, Cumbria.
Established 1771 by the Leile family. Owned by Armstrong in 1912 from the Dalzells.
In 1930 Armstrong made arrangements with Jennings Brothers Ltd. They had separate management for the pubs but used a central distribution centre in Cockermouth.
Declared bankrupt in 1932 and Tower Brewery with 22 houses put up for sale but only 3 houses were sold.
In December 1933 purchased from the London Assurance Co (as mortgagee) by Messrs TB Hustler & Sons of Morecambe.
