James Smith listed here from 1847, Joab Hammond from 1855 and Hammond & Sons from 1891. A new brewery was built in 1887 close to river.

Registered 1908. Offered for auction 23rd September 1910 with 3 public houses.

Trading ceased when the brewery was sold to Gale & Co. Ltd. 25th June 1912.

The buildings were redeveloped as Riverside Mews.
