Thomas Plant & Co. Ltd, Steam Brewery, St Johns Street, Netherton, MB Dudley, West Midlands

Founded by William Round 1837. The Rounds ran the Cottage Spring pub at 40 High Street, and built their brewery at the rear of the pub. The Steam Brewery was a traditional tower brewery of 8 quarters capacity. It had a malthouse attached. Following Samuel Round's death, it was acquired by Thomas Plant of Brierley Hill, in 1875. The brewery was bought by F Stephenson in 1896; then registered in August 1901 as Plant's Brewery Ltd.

Acquired by the Hereford & Tredegar Brewery Ltd in June 1912 and was closed. Re-opened as Thomas Plant & Co. Ltd in 1915.

Acquired by Ansells Brewery Ltd on 4 December 1936 with 63 houses and was finally closed in 1947.
