Acquired by Starkey, Knight & Co. Ltd. 1895.
Business merged with Norman & Pring Ltd. of Exeter 1964 and name changed to Whitbread Devon Ltd. in the early 1970s.
Brewing ceased 1982, when operated by Whitbread & Co. Ltd.
The brewery features in The Noted Breweries of Great Britain and Ireland by Alfred Barnard published 1890.
