Thatcher's Brewery Ltd, Bristol Brewery, 28 Alma Street, Newport, Gwent.

Reputedly founded by 1740.

Originally registered 1892.

Ceased brewing 1931 but reopened 1933 by A.E.Edwards.

Registered December 1937 as Thatcher's Bristol Brewery Ltd.

Acquired in 1949 by Mitchells & Butlers Ltd. with 20 tied houses.

Bottled until 1960.
