Stocks Doncaster Brewery, The Hallcross, 33-34 Hallgate, Doncaster, South Yorkshire DN1 3NL

The building was originally the home of Cooplands Bakery (Doncaster) Ltd until they relocated in the late 1970s. Stocks Brewery was established by Cooplands Bakery and Michael Jenkinson in December 1981. In 1983 it was reported as brewing 25 barrels a week - for the pub alone! In 1986, they acquired their second pub, the Turnpike, Market Place, Bawtry. Its most famous beer was "Old Horizontal".

Sold with twp pubs in 1996 to Century Inns. The company had no interest in brewing and immediately closed the Hallcross brewery.

The pub still trades, and sells "Stocks" beers brewed by the Welbeck Abbey brewery.
