A H Smith & Co. Ltd, Don Brewery, 4 Penistone Road, Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

Founded c.1828. Registered November 1900.

Acquired by Tennant Brothers Ltd in 1915 with about 108 houses and closed by 1917. Buildings demolished 1994, but a large company plaque survives, mounted alongside Penistone Road.


The brewery features in The Noted Breweries of Great Britain and Ireland by Alfred Barnard published 1890.
