Acquired by Christie & Lucas, the wine and spirit side of Christie & Co. Ltd. of Hoddesdon, in 1929. Brewing continued for a few months. Silas Barker carried on as a beer retailer until about 1933. In 1936 the Ware Brewery Co. operated here for a year. It was owned by Herbert Lynn and was registered as the Ware Brewery Co. Ltd. on 25th November 1946. They had transferred to the Star Brewery in 1937 where they continued until 1951.
