Schofield & Dannatt were corn and seed merchants, maltsters and brewers c.1893 - c.1896. It is not clear who Schofield and Dannatt were although they both came from Barrow families.

In 1868 John Dannatt was Parish Clerk and Robert Dannatt was a farmer and coal merchant, by 1889 Robert was a farmer at Barrow Haven. In 1893 Robert was a colliery agent, coal merchant and agent for the Appleby Iron Co. at Barrow Haven; John Sergeant Dannatt was a farmer, coal merchant and lime burner at Barrow Haven.

In 1900 William Fisher Schofield was manager of the Barrow Gas Co. Ltd. and William George Schofield was a corn, seed and cake manufacturer; previously they had only been listed under Private Residences.
