A home-brew house dating from 1855, under butcher-turned-publican John Tauberville. Owned by Frank Matthews from 1922 to 1940. His widow Sophia leased the pub to [[Bathams]] in 1946, and Bathams acquired it in 1960.

A home-brew house dating from 1855, under butcher-turned-publican John Tauberville. Owned by Frank Matthews from 1922 to 1940. His widow Sophia leased the pub to Bathams in 1946, and Bathams acquired it in 1960.
