John Rowell & Son Ltd, New Brewery, 143 High Street, Gateshead, Tyne & Wear.

Founded by John Rowell 1840.

Registered March 1894 to acquire: John H Rowell & Sons. A new company was registered in 1896 to acquire John M.Bruce, wine and spirit merchants; William Turnbull & Co, Ferry Brewery South Shields and Gilpin & Co, mineral water manufacturers, Newcastle. Acquired by Newcastle Breweries Ltd. 1959.
