Founded in about 1809 and was acquired by W.Willett & Son in 1863. Registered in April 1901 with 52 tied houses.
In 1911, they acquired Chapman & Co's Brighton brewery but this was later sold to Fremlins Ltd.
They acquired the Tipper Ale Brewery, Newhaven in 1911; and H Michell (Horsham) with 25 pubs in 1912.
Acquired by Portsmouth United Breweries Ltd in 1927 with over 100 houses who then became Portsmouth & Brighton United Breweries Ltd. Brewing ceased in 1928.
Chapman & Co's brewery, which they acquired.
