Originally the brewery for the bar at the Royal Clarence Hotel at Burnham-on-Sea. Brewing commenced at Hewish in 1993 following the move from Burnham.

The company was in liquidation in 2017, when it became: Pitchfork Ales.

-RCH Brewery was set up in 1983 by Paul Davey at the Royal Clarence Hotel in Burnham-on-Sea, which gave it its name. But the success of the venture proved so enormous that Paul had to move to new premises at nearby West Hewish.
-Paul and his team now produce a wide range of beers, including Old Slug which has restored the balance between porter and lighter beers. It has also won several awards with its beers at various west country shows.
