Plews & Sons Ltd, Vale of Mowbray Brewery, Leases Road, Leeming Bar, North Yorkshire

Founded here in 1795 by Henry Plews. Acquired by Cameron & Co. Ltd in 1925 with about 100 public houses.

The premises were later used as a bacon factory, and the site then redeveloped as a pork pie factory (since closed).

Although listed here as brewers in 1905, this seems always to have been offices and maltings, which remain, for the brewery at Leeming.

The brewery features in The Noted Breweries of Great Britain and Ireland by Alfred Barnard published 1890.
