Founded 1801 at Towcester by Pickering Phipps.

In 1899, they acquired the neighbouring [[Ratliffe & Jeffery Ltd]] brewery with 135 tied houses. In 1939 became P Phipps & Co.Ltd. After the merger with the [[Northampton Brewery Co. Ltd]]. in 1957 became Phipps Northampton Brewery Co. Ltd.  


Registered September 1881 as Pickering Phipps & Co (Northampton & Towcester Breweries) Ltd.
Acquired by [[Watney Mann Ltd]]. 1960 with 1,171 houses and the name was changed as above in 1964. Ceased brewing in 1972 and demolished prior to the building of the [[Carlsberg Brewery Ltd]] plant.
