It was sold at auction in 1886 to Evan Morris and seems to have stopped brewing around then. Brian Glover writes: "The Old Swan Brewery was in operation until the 1880s. It was in the hands of the Lovatt family for some 50 years, first Richard and then Edward. Now a Hyde's pub, it retains old raised lettering on the frontage: 'OLD SWAN BREWERY', and dated 1811.
