The Edwards family had brewed at the Old Anchor up to 1922, with one entry as Edwards & Co.

Brewing commenced 1985 on the move from Upton. In 1990, they acquired the Cardinals Hat pub in Friar Street. Ceased in 1992 when the brewery moved to larger premises to the Jolly Roger Brewery at the Cardinals Hat.
