Registered 19th March 1890 as the Black Lion Brewery Co. Ltd to acquire the business of A.S.Pleace. Voluntary liquidation 26th October 1898 and was wound up 15th July 1899. New company registered as above 17th March 1899 which went into liquidation on 2nd November 1910. A.S.Pleace relinquished the managing directorship on 1st April 1911 and bought the Rock Brewery. Brewery and 22 tied houses offered for sale and were acquired by [[Samuel Allsopp & Sons Ltd]]. 1912. At rear of hotel.
