Edward Monk & Sons, Bear Brewery, Bear Yard, Cliffe High Street, Lewes, East Sussex.

Located behind the Bear Hotel (which no longer exists). John Harvey started his brewing career here, before establishing his own brewery on the north side of Cliffe High Street.

Acquired by Southdown & East Grinstead Breweries Ltd with 53 houses in 1898. The brewery has been demolished.

Maltings survive in Foundry Lane, converted to housing:
