Mitchells of Lancaster (Brewers) Ltd, Central Brewery, 11 Moor Lane, Lancaster, Lancashire

Mitchells of Lancaster (Brewers) Ltd, Old Brewery, Brewery Lane, Lancaster, Lancashire

Founded in 1861 when William Mitchell leased the Black Horse Inn in Common Garden Street with brewery attached. The Central Brewery was established in 1882. Registered as above in 1965.

Brewing was transferred to the Old Brewery after Yates & Jackson Ltd's closure in 1984.

Ceased brewing in 1999, and became a PubCo. Mitchell Hotels acquired the York Brewery in 2008.

In administration December 2018.
