Registered in December 1889 as the Leeds & Wakefield Breweries Ltd to amalgamate:

  • Kirk, Matthews, Melbourne Brewery and
  • Carter & Sons, Victoria Brewery, Wakefield.

Name changed to Melbourne Brewery (Leeds) Ltd in December 1957. Acquired by Joshua Tetley & Son Ltd in 1960 and brewing ceased one year later. Owned 245 public houses.
