A Grade II listed building which may date to the early 1700s. A microbrewery was founded at the pub in March 1974 by Tom Litt. The plant was located in a converted piggery and initially produced 72 gallons per week, with some Super Pale Ale bottled at Donnington Brewery. Called Sowlye Ale 1040og it was a dark hoppy brew available only at the pub. | |||
