Marshall Brothers (Huntingdon) Ltd, 123 High Street, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.

Established at the Chequers by George Marcall c.1750.

Sold to Stephen Arundel in 1765. About 1790 purchased by Dennis Herbert for his son William.

In 1864 bought by James Marshall for his 2 sons, Arthur Wellington and Charles, with 64 public houses.

Registered 1910 as above.

In 1932 they merged with Jenkins & Jones Ltd. and R.J.& C.T.Lindsell & Son of Chatteris to form Huntingdon Breweries Ltd.

At the time of the merger, however, Marshalls were producing all the beer for Lindsell’s, and for Jenkins & Jones, the other constituent.

This group then merged with Hall, Cutlack & Harlock Ltd. of Ely in 1950 to form East Anglian Breweries Ltd.

Marshall’s Brewery continued to brew until brewing ceased at Huntingdon in 1954.

Some buildings survive as Brewery Court.
