Maclay & Co. Ltd, Thistle Brewery, 1 Junction Place, Alloa, Clackmannanshire

Founded by 1830 when James Maclay leased the Mill Brewery. The Thistle Brewery was built in 1870 and the Mill Brewery was leased to Robert Henderson & Co. Ltd. Registered in 1897.

They closed their brewery in 1999 but continued to trade independently as a pub company.

Forth Brewing Co was founded by members of staff which for a while brewed Maclay beers.

All Maclay beer was then brewed by the Belhaven Brewery Co. Ltd. and the Thistle Brewery has since been demolished.
