Founded by 1830 when James Maclay leased the Mill Brewery. The Thistle Brewery was built in 1870 and the Mill Brewery was leased to [[Robert Henderson & Co. Ltd]]. Registered in 1897.

Maclay & Co. Ltd, Thistle Brewery, 1 Junction Place, Alloa, Clackmannanshire


Founded by 1830 when James Maclay leased the Mill Brewery. The Thistle Brewery was built in 1870 and the Mill Brewery was leased to Robert Henderson & Co. Ltd. Registered in 1897.

Closed in 1999 in favour of pub management. Forth Brewery was founded by members of staff which then brewed Maclay beers.

All Maclay beer is now being brewed by the Belhaven Brewery Co. Ltd. and Thistle brewery has since been demolished.
