Founded by Robert Temple 1757 and acquired by the Spicer family 1801. Run by [[Pike & Co]]. from 1840 and brewing ceased 1848 after [[Pike, Spicer & Co]]. was formed. Brewing recommenced 1859 when George Lush moved from the Hawke Brewery, Hawke Street, founded 1809 by George Clements.
