Edward Bate trading here from 1835. He died 1873 and Thomas Bate II succeeded to 1876.

Registered 28th March 1890 to acquire the business of Thomas Bate trading as the Kelsterton Brewery Co.

Acquired by the Chester Northgate Brewery Co. Ltd. 1899 with 93 houses and company wound-up.

Brewing ceased 1904/05 used as depot until c.1922.

Stable now private house.
