Jolly Roger Brewery, The Cardinals Hat, 31-33 Friar Street, Worcester, Worcestershire WR1 2NA

The Old Anchor Brewery began at Upton-upon-Severn in 1982, and moved to Lowesmoor in Worcester in 1985. In 1990, they purchased the Cardinals Hat pub, and the Jolly Roger Brewery was established here in 1992.

They established a small chain of pubs:

  • Cardinals Hat, 31-33 Friar Street, Worcester
  • Brewery Tap & Brewery, 50 Lowesmoor, Worcester
  • Hot Rock Cafe, 54 Lowesmoor, Worcester
  • Toad & Tulip, 53 Lowesmoor, Worcester
  • Jug & Bottle (shop), 33 Friar Street, Worcester
  • Jolly Roger (later the Victory), 88 St Owen Street, Hereford. A brewpub. See: Spinning Dog


Brewing ceased 1996.
