The Plowright's bakery and beerhouse is on the left

John Simkin Plowright, Market Place / Eastgate, Hallaton, Leicestershire

John Simkin Plowright was a baker in Hallaton in the 19th century. In Wright's Directory, he is also listed as a brewer in 1880 and 1887.

His son Walter later carried on the bakery business, and also sold beer at the premises. The building still stands, in use as a house.
