James Thorougood & Son, Liverpool Road, Burscough Bridge, Lancashire.
James Thorougood took over the Packet House Inn, with its small brewery and in 1870s and built the Royal Hotel.
They became “& Son” in 1892 and Thorougood’s Breweries Ltd in 1896.
They merged with Thorougood Ltd of Liverpool in 1896. The brewery built 1893 was offered for sale in July 1922.
