James Firth, Myrtle Grove/Oakenshaw Brewery, Dyehouse Road, Oakenshaw, West Yorkshire.

In 1892/8 Dan Firth listed Dye House Fold, Low Moor Bottom.

Recorded in 1938.

Malcolm Toft writes:-

In 1883 Dan Firth, maltster of Oakenshaw advertised for sale by auction the Myrtle Grove Brewery and inn of the same name, both near Birkenshaw Railway Station.

Dan Firth first appeared in the 1887 local directory addressed at the Oakenshaw Brewery, David Firth had an entry 1891-1906, and finally James Firth 1912-1938.

Production seems to have ceased just before the Second World War.
