Established by Michael Herald in July 1982 and ceased brewing 1987.
Started in April 1983 by Michael Herald, Northern Ireland's third new small brewery.
 
The brewer was Gary Phillip, previously with Whitbread in Portsmouth. Michael's parents owned the Cashlandloo Inn at Black Castle and it was here that the beers were first made available.
 
Hilden provided a lot of assistance with the start up and Micheal spent some time learning the trade from Anne Scullion and Brendan Dobbin.
 
In 1987 the brewery went into liquidation and Michael moved the complete brewery to Edmonton in Canada after purchasing it from the liquidators.
