Henry Mitchell Jnr built the Cape Hill Brewery in 1878 to replace the Crown Brewery, Smethwick, which had been brewing since 1854.  
Henry Mitchell began brewing at the Oddfellows Arms, Hall Street, West Bromwich before 1851. He acquired the Crown Inn, Oldbury Road, Smethwick in 1854, and the Crown Brewery there was rebuilt in 1866 by Henry Mitchell Jnr, after his father's retirement in 1861.
 
In 1854 Henry was licensee of the Crown, Oldbury Road, with Joseph Parker as brewer.

Henry Mitchell & Co. Ltd, Cape Hill Brewery, Cape Hill, Smethwick, West Midlands.

Henry Mitchell began brewing at the Oddfellows Arms, Hall Street, West Bromwich before 1851. He acquired the Crown Inn, Oldbury Road, Smethwick in 1854, and the Crown Brewery there was rebuilt in 1866 by Henry Mitchell Jnr, after his father's retirement in 1861.
