Brewing commenced 1992 but ceased in 1993 when brewing took place at Maclay's.
Heather Ales was set up in 1992 and initially brewed their beer at West Highland. In 1993 production moved to Maclays. In 1999 they opened their own brewery to brew their cask products with the bottled beers being brewed at Forth. Towards the end of 2003 they took over Forth, renaming it [[Williams Brothers Brewing Co|Williams Brothers]]. All production was transferred there by early 2004. The Strathaven site was sold during 2005 and reopened as [[Strathaven Ales]].

Heather Ales Ltd, Craigmill Brewery, Strathaven, South Lanarkshire

Heather Ales was set up in 1992 and initially brewed their beer at West Highland. In 1993 production moved to Maclays. In 1999 they opened their own brewery to brew their cask products with the bottled beers being brewed at Forth. Towards the end of 2003 they took over Forth, renaming it Williams Brothers.
