Peter Sullins was a maltster in 1839, with his son Henry Sullins taking over the malting concern and adding brewing to the business. He was listed as a maltster and brewer in 1874, but by 1884, Peter Sullins was the owner.
 
In 1886 a Mr Henry Mean was the manager of the Hatfield Heath brewery. The brewer's house which is situated opposite the brewery, now used as a residential home, was built in 1863 and has Peter Sullins monogram in stone. He sold out to Captain Charles A.S.Warde in 1892 and the concern traded until 1900.
 
The four story building stands today a gaunt black and white building with a lucarne to the front elevation.
